Quilt beginnings

The squares are cut and I'm ready to start sewing--

I've sewn my 2 squares together using the chain-piece method---

Here are the 3 sets of two squares--

Now to sew the third square--

Here's how the nine-patch pieces will look--

All stacked and ready for the next step--

As you can see I'm making a quilt for fall
That gives me plenty of time to get it done--

  1. Love those colors! I've been wanting to make a little lap quilt since forever and just never get around to it!

  2. Pretty Fall colors. I have never attempted to quilt. Actually I have not sewn anything in a very long time. :-) Enjoy your retirement.

  5. I love quilts, but never made one. My grandmother used to make them, I have one of hers. A friend of mine here also makes them and I enjoy seeing hers.

P.S. - I store my dishes in the china cabinet, kitchen cabinets. I don't have as many as it looks, I just keep using them over and over. Some of the holiday dishes are in the attic.
